Public Programm for families, children & young people

A colourful program for families, children and young people will also take place in the Liebermann Villa in 2025 as part of a sponsorship by Berliner Sparkasse through its “Mehr Kultur” program.
Each opening will be accompanied by an open drop-in program for families that will be repeated in the duration of the exhibition.
Once per exhibition, (elective) grandparents are invited to the Omi-Opi Day (Granny Day) with their grandchildren (of choice). You visit the current exhibition in a family tour and afterwards artistically realize your impressions at the workshop table.
You can find an overview of the dates in our calendar.

Would you like to explore the garden? Twice a year, in spring and fall, you can join the garden club. In this children’s workshop for nature discoverers, you will help with planting and discover which tree is a real superhero.
Toddlers and their grown-ups are very welcome at the Heckenwesen (Hedge Creatures) workshop. You will get to know little garden inhabitants who will tell you about the family that once lived here. Check the calendar for special events during holidays.
Outdoor art is created in summer! The Seeatelier (Lake Studio) workshop for young people takes place once a month from June to August. The workshop is open for those aged 12 and over. In the fall, we also take part in the Children’s Culture Month.

Memory garden
How to shape remembrance and commemoration
What is remembered and why? Thinking about monuments is more exciting than you might think! They are not just figures and horses on pedestals. The Liebermann Villa and its garden, for example, are also a monument. Together we will find out why the house is a listed building and what that means. What can be a monument nowadays? Think about what you would like to remember or who you would like to commemorate. And how could this be represented? Does a monument even need a plinth and does it have to stand in one place forever? Try out how commemoration can be expressed artistically and create your own designs using various materials such as wood, cardboard and clay.
Concept: Laureline van den Heuvel
Participation: GS und Sek I max. 28 Schüler*innen
Dates and times: Di 11-14:00 Uhr
The workshop is organised in cooperation with Jugend im Museum.
