„Discovering Jewish Country Houses” – an exhibition on the run

For her photographs, Hélène Binet travelled throughout Europe – to Britain, France, Germany, Italy and the Czech Republic. Her search for traces took place as part of the University of Oxford’s ten-year ‘Jewish Country Houses Project’. The resulting artistic works were presented at Strawberry Hill in Twickenham and at the Rothschild estate Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire before arriving at the Liebermann-Villa am Wannsee.

We cordially invite you to join us for an online talk accompanying the exhibition and exchange ideas with our cooperation partners: among them Prof. Abigail Green (University of Oxford), Hélène Binet, Silvia Davoli (Strawberry Hill) and Petr Svoboda (National Heritage Institute, Czech Republic) will provide insights into the international research and exhibition project. Together, we will discuss the experiences gained during the presentation of Hélène Binet’s architectural photographs at the various exhibition venues and the curatorial decisions that were involved.

Online-Gespräch mit Kooperationspartner*innen zur Ausstellung „Vision und Illusion. Architekturfotografien von Hélène Binet“

Für ihre Fotografien reiste Hélène Binet durch ganz Europa – nach Großbritannien, Frankreich, Deutschland, Italien und Tschechien. Ihre Spurensuche fand im Rahmen des auf zehn Jahre angelegten „Jewish Country Houses Project“ der University of Oxford statt. Die künstlerischen Arbeiten, die dabei entstanden, wurden vor ihrer Ankunft in der Liebermann-Villa am Wannsee bereits in Strawberry Hill in Twickenham sowie im Rothschild-Anwesen Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire präsentiert.

Bei diesem ausstellungsbegleitenden Online-Talk laden wir Sie herzlich zum Austausch mit unseren Kooperationspartnerinnen ein: darunter Prof. Abigail Green (University of Oxford), Hélène Binet, Juliet Carey (Waddesdon Manor), Silvia Davoli (Strawberry Hill) und Petr Svoboda (National Heritage Institute, Tschechien), die Einblicke in das internationale Forschungs- und Ausstellungsprojekt gewähren.
